NewPages Young Authors Guide: provides an extensive list of publishing opportunities as well as a list of contests organized by the deadline dates. Students should review the list to find publication opportunities appropriate to their writing.
The National Writing Project: provides links to websites that encourage student writing. This site contains publishing opportunities as well as links to sites with reading materials and communities where students can share with others who have similar interests.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: site provides a list of art and writing award opportunities.

Patapsco's Authors Published in Our Voice Literary Magazine!

Announced March 2015:
Congratulations to Samantha Williams and Manoj Kolangi, whose poems and short stories were chosen to be published in the 2015 edition of Howard County’s Literary Magazine, Our Voice. From a record number of over thirty submissions from the GT Writers’ Guild and Writers’ Workshop, as well as ELA classes, the seven additional finalists below were selected for consideration at the county level. We eagerly await the spring publication of Manoj Kolangi’s poem The Cellist of Sarajevo and Samantha Williams’ poem Where I’m From and her short story The Brush Dancer.
